The salesforce schema builder is a visual representation of all objects, fields, and their relationships on Salesforce.com. It offers a dynamic environment for viewing and changing all objects and their relationships.
How to Use Schema Builder in Salesforce?
To build the Salesforce Schema Builder, go to Setup | Build | Schema Builder.

In Salesforce Schema Builder we have various options like auto layout, View options, elements, and objects.
- Elements:- The elements tab displays all objects, fields, and relationships in a sidebar or dropdown list.
- Auto Layout:- Auto Layout in Salesforce Schema Builder is used to organize layouts in objects.
- View option:- In View option, we have three filters by which element names are displayed, hide relationships, hide legend.
The Schema Builder displays all standard and custom objects in our organization. We have many options to display an object like all objects, selected objects, Standard objects, Custom objects, system objects. Depending on our requirement, we can choose the items to display. When we select custom objects, all the objects in the representation will be displayed as shown below.

As shown above, we have seven custom objects and their relationships. The blue line is the lookup relationship and the red line are the master-detail relationship. Clicking on the auto layout and zooming out will bring up the schema builder in a neat way. We can move the object to any location in the Salesforce Schema Builder.
From the Salesforce Schema Builder above, we have all the Master detail relationships highlighted in red, and the Visit-Sample relationship is a one-to-many lookup relationship. In the Child object we can observe the connected nodes as above.
We can also create custom objects, fields, and relationships with the schema builder. To create, go to Elements in the Salesforce Schema Builder. Simply drag and drop the object link to create a new object. Now enter all the fields and click on save button.
