What is an Application in Salesforce?
App means Application. This Application is a collection of components with your tabs, reports, dashboards, Vf pages, and so on.
Types of Applications in SFDC.
In Salesforce.com, we have 2 different types of Applications, and they are
- Classic Apps.
- Lightning Apps.
In Salesforce we can develop, manage and Customise both applications according to user requirements.
How to Create an APP in Salesforce?
To create a Salesforce app, go to Setup | Build | Create | Application.
In Salesforce, we don’t need to go through every time as mentioned above. Here we have a shortcut as a Quick search / search box as shown below. Just enter the keyword we want to go to.
Now click on Applications as mentioned above. A group of applications will now appear. The sitcom apps are checked in the appropriate boxes and the rest are standard apps.
How to create an APP in Salesforce? (1st Method)
For Create Custom APP in Salesforce, we need to go navigate to Setup | Build | Create | Apps | Quick Start.
When we click on “Quick Start” a pop up window will be displayed Enter the
- App Name.
- APP label.
- Plural Name
- And finally click on Create Button.
What is a label?
The label, that is visible to the end user that is shown in the application.
What is App Name?
APP name is mainly used for Developers which is mostly used for back-end purpose and programming purposes.
How to create an app in Salesforce (2nd Method)
Here we can also create a new custom app in other ways. To create a new custom Salesforce app, go to Setup | Build | Create | Apps | New. If we click the New button here and complete the 5 steps to create a salesforce app.
Click on the New button as shown above.
Now select the “Custom app” and click on the “Next Button”.
Enter the ”App Label” and “APP Name” and “Description”, and finally click on the “next” button.
If you want to choose an Image, Insert an Image, and click on Next Button.
- Select the list of tabs you want to include in this custom app and click Next.
- Finally, select the list of profiles where this custom application was created and finally click the Save button.
The difference between Standard components and custom components is that Standard components cannot be deleted and the custom component can be deleted. So we see a delete button for the custom object as shown above.
